If your students need practice memorizing their double facts, check out this game! This game is great for an intensive intervention group or for basic fact fluency practice. This game is inexpensive and requires very little prep time.
This game works best in a teacher-led small group setting. Students take turns picking a doubles fact card. After selecting a card, the student verbally solves the fact, and then all the students in the group graph the sum on their recording sheets. The students enjoy coloring in their graphs, and the repetition of the facts helps the students quickly memorize doubles (which is a precursor to other addition strategies such as doubles plus one and doubles plus two).
