This fun math activity can be used with Jellybeans
. Teachers purchase and divide the jellybeans amongst the students. The students will be sorting, graphing, making tally marks, creating patterns, identifying fractions, and answering comparison questions their jellybeans by color.

for different printing options. Students use jellybeans for each worksheet. The worksheets contain the same text, just changes in color.
The Common Core Math Standards that are covered are outlined below:
Make and Compare Fractions
Standards Covered: 3.NF.1, 3.NF.3, 4.NF.2
Students use their jellybeans to create fractions based on their colors. They compare their groups using <, >, or =.
Create a Bar Graph
Standards Covered: 2.MD.10, 3.MD.3
Students use their jellybeans to create a bar graph based on their colors. Next, they answer questions including the most, least, writing addition equations, more or less, and if there are any of the same amount.
Create a Tally Chart, Odd or Even, and Make Patterns
Standards Covered: 2.OA.3, 3.OA.9
Students use their jellybeans to create a tally chart based on their colors and then determine if the amounts are even or odd. Next students create 4 different color patterns using their jellybean colors.
Students use this sheet to sort their jellybeans by color.
