A variety of magnets, some activities need bar magnets or a wand magnet
Metal paperclips (lots of them)
Tape (masking is best)
Sheets of paper, cardstock, cardboard, cloth, foil, plastic (recycled laminating film would work)
Metal lids that attract a magnet
Small trays or containers
Stopwatch or timer
Sewing needles (some students may not be ready for this activity)
a mixture of items that can and cannot be attracted by a magnet
