Need a fun way to do onset-rime blending? Try this fun BINGO game. I used this BINGO game to practice single syllable onset-rime blending with my students. First I read the story Bear's New Friend (The Bear Books)
After reading the story we practiced listening to sounds and blending the words. Then we played the BINGO game where I would give the segmented sounds (ex: h, -id) and then they would have to find the word on their BINGO board (ex: hid). The words I chose are from the book, however you could easily use this BINGO board without reading the story.
My students enjoyed this game and it was a great way to spice up what can be a boring lesson. We used this game frequently during our word study time and as a way to practice blending words.
This set contains 17 BINGO boards with one set of calling cards. I would suggest laminating the set for durability.
