Description

Function Notation Notes is designed to help guide students in their understanding of what function notation is and how to use it.

A Magic Triangle Activity is a fun way for students to practice a concept they have learned. Through the process of solving problems and matching it to the answer, students will turn what started out as a hexagon into an equilateral triangle.

Students are given a linear and quadratic function, and using function notation, plug in various values, monomial and binomial values, and simplify.

Prior Knowledge Needed:

1. Squaring one term

2. Squaring two terms (FOIL)

3. Distributing

4. Combining like terms

Blank student copy, instructions, and completed teacher copy are included.

Teacher/Instructor notes can be printed in color or black/white.

Students will need access to scissors, construction paper (or other type of paper), and glue/tape for the magic triangle activity.
