I created this worksheet to help my students work on function transformations. I want students to be able to analyze a function equation and identify key attributes.
This worksheet has 6 functions – 2 quadratic, 2 absolute value, and 2 square roots functions. The functions are written in function notation, not as equations. The worksheet is set up as a table for students to complete the following:
• write the equations
• graph the functions
• describe the transformations
• identify the domain and range, and
• find the value of the function at a given value
This worksheet could be used as a summary activity, a formative assessment, or a homework assignment after having studied transformations of functions.
