In this activity, students work in pairs or small groups to sort and match cards to form a completed puzzle.
Each transformed function is matched with its transformed graph and a transformation description.
Students must discuss and decide how to match up the sets of cards to form correct puzzles.
The transformations include horizontal and vertical translations and reflections about the x and y axes. There are no compressions or stretches represented in this activity.
Each transformation is written so that a reflection is done first and then a shift.
Activity includes a pre-sort activity to graph the parent functions so students can reference those during the activity.
