What educators are saying

Thank you for these resources. I use them for remediation with students that have expedited retakes on their reading SOL test. Thank you!
I love your resources. This is extremely helpful in reviewing for the state test. Good resources with look-alike questions are difficult to find. Thank you!

Description

Functional text is so important to teach, but it can be hard to find passages at a 5th grade level. I've got you covered with this no-prep original flier about a city's parks. After reading this engaging functional text, students will review a variety of nonfiction reading skills and word analysis strategies as they answer 9 comprehension questions.

This print and digital resource is great to use during a functional text unit or to use for end of year SOL review. You might use in class with small groups for targeted practice or for a homework assignment or assessment. Questions include multiple-choice and TEI-like items.

What's Included:

  • horizontal format (modeled after the end-of-year online Reading SOL test)
  • vertical format
  • digital version in Google Slides™
  • answer keys

This resource supports 2017 Reading SOL 5.4 and 5.6.
