In this fun activity, students will create their own game! They will practice applying functional text in writing by creating the rules to their game. Students get to be as creative as they want! I have included a spinner for the game, but students could have another option by using dice provided by the teacher.

This would work great for center work with a partner! Or students could even work on it individually, and when finished- play the game with their peers. Students can decorate their game board, and teacher could laminate for durability for students to take home if desired.

Sight words or math facts could easily be incorporated to the game as well!

Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to narrate a single event or several loosely linked events, tell about the events in the order in which they occurred, and provide a reaction to what happened.
