In this task, students are asked to identify the four basic types of functions as described in the CCSSM for Math I and Math II.
Each pair of students is provided with a Sudoku-like gameboard and ten function pieces. The functions are to be placed on the gameboard such that only one of each type (linear, quadratic, cubic and exponential) is placed in each row, column and two-by-two square.
This task is quick enough to be used as a class starter to review functions or at the end of class to informally assess students' ability to identify functions. Super fun!
