The Furniture House: Furniture/Room Sort contains labels and clip art to make two versions of a lap book or file folder game to practice sorting furniture into the correct room.
1. First is a full-color product to laminate for a file folder “lap book” for young children. It has envelopes for 7 rooms in a house, and three items of furniture that fit in each of those rooms. I’d suggest laminating and attaching hook-and-loop tape to the backs of the furniture. A pre-K student would love finding the “right” rooms for each item of furniture, or the student would enjoy being goofy and putting the toilet in the dining room, for example.
2. Second is a black and white set of flip-flap pages for each student to work independently in sorting furniture in a notebook. Six different room are included, and furniture and rooms are labeled for literacy practice. This may be ideal for pre-K student, kindergarten student, or low-level older special needs student to work independently at cutting, folding, and sorting furniture into the proper rooms.
