Third Grade Vocabulary Activities
Weekly Vocabulary words are introduced first day of lesson(cycle). Students will do different activities each day of the lesson.
On Day 4, students will break into differentiated groups to do the vocabulary group activities. Then students will rotate and walk to each group. They will use a vocabulary gallery checklist to evaluate each group's work, and then make their own sentence using the target vocabulary. At the end of the vocabulary activity, each group will present to the whole class and the audience will give their feedback.
This activity promote teamwork, presentation skills and accountable talk. Everyone in group is responsible for a part of the vocabulary activity. Then the group will present, and through the accountable talk/discussion, they give feedback to the presenting group.
