This is an Interactive PowerPoint game. Therefore, this game must be played in SLIDESHOW MODE in MICROSOFT POWERPOINT.

Objective of the Game:
Answer different questions about the Binomial Theorem & Pascal’s Triangle and be able to place 3 Xs or 3 Os horizontally, vertically, or diagonally before the other player

Directions:
This PowerPoint Show consists of 4 Different Games. Each game has a grid of a 3 x 3 squares where each square on the grid is linked to a question on Binomial Theorem or Pascal’s Triangle. The game is played the traditional way of playing Tic Tac Toe. First player will click on a desired square which will be linked to a question that must to be answered. Both players will answer the question on their individual Recording Forms. Players will check their answers against the correct answer (provided on the slide) and go back to the Score Board to place an “X” or “O”. Players will alternate until a winner is declared or the game is a draw. Suggested directions on how to play the game are included.

When the game is completed, students have the ability to re-play the same game for additional practice, or start a new game.

The 4 games of this activity are targeting the following concepts:
☑ Game 1: Expand the given binomial
☑ Game 2: Find a specific term of a binomial raised to a power
☑ Game 3: Find the coefficients of a specific term of a binomial raised to a power
☑ Game 4: Random questions about expanding binomials and some questions are about Pascal’s Triangle

Students should feel very comfortable with:
☑  Using Pascal’s Triangle to expand a binomial (the game could also be played using combinations)
☑  Working with Binomials with terms that have coefficients such as: (5x - 2y)⁴
☑  Working with Binomials with terms that have powers such as: (2x³ + 3)⁵
☑  Working with questions regarding the construction of Pascal’s Triangle (Game 4)

This game requires that students pair up and play against each others. It is also great when class is divided into two teams where the game is projected on a Smartboard or Whiteboard. Tic Tac Toe brings "engagement, motivation, and happiness" to students as it allows them to use strategy, critical thinking, and have fun while working on their questions.
