This is the story of George Washington Carver. He was born a slave during the Civil War. After the war when the slaves were freed, George was adopted by his former owners, the Carvers. George studied about plants and science and grew up to be a teacher at the Tuskegee Institute. He developed hundreds of uses for peanuts, sweet potatoes, and soybeans.
This purchase includes a full-color and a black & white version of the book. Each one can be printed out and put into book form and includes a full-color front and back cover. The copy size can be reduced to make each student a personal booklet. The color and black and white pictures can also be used for color sheets, bulletin board displays, and classroom games.
