ELEMENTARY GERMAN TELLING TIME DIE UHRZEIT POSTERS - EVERY ANALOG CLOCK TIME WITH BONUS GERMAN TELLING TIME REFERENCE BOOK I've bundled together all my German Telling Time posters / flashcards. There are 292 posters/flashcards (1 set color/1 set B&W), showing every analog clock time in German. I've used two question formats: Wie spät ist es? and Wie viel Uhr ist es? to ensure students get used to both. For the twenty-five past/to, I've used fünf vor halb... and fünf nach halb.., though of course it's also ok to say fünfundzwanzig nach/vor... - I like to give my students a little extra practice with those pesky half past the hour, which are definitely a little tricky in German. I use the posters both as back to school classroom decor, and also during the introduction phase of telling time. I tend to focus initially on o'clock and half past, as I've found that when students are confident with the concept of telling time in German, they're able to assimilate all the clock times more successfully at a slightly later date. They're great for flashcard introduction and practice of new language, particularly with small groups.
The posters / flashcards are great as visual prompts, reminders and refreshers, as well as giving a fab German feel to the classroom. I've uploaded both color and BW sets, as printing in color may not be an option. I always laminate my posters / flashcards as they do look better, and definitely last for a very long time!
There's a bonus file that works really well when you're learning how to tell time in German - it's a 14-page reference book, featuring every analog clock time in German, with time phrases and clock faces - it's a great reference resource for German students of all ages.
