Before you start playing, print two copies of every page (they are the front side),
and eight copies of page 5 (they are the reverse side), stick them together, cut them
out and laminate. You will have 36 pairs [=72 cards].
How to play the game.
Students play in groups of 3-6.
One of the students shuffles and deals 5 cards to each player. The rest of the
cards are placed face down on the table (“the Ocean” or “the pond”).
Players check if they have pairs of identical cards. They put these cards on the
table in front of them, face up and they score a point before starting to ask
Now player A asks someone the practised question: “Does he/she …?” /”Do
they..? / etc. to get a pair of identical cards.
-If the student asked, has the card he/she must say: “Yes, he/she does
[they do]. Here you are.” and gives the card to the player. Then player A
puts the identical pair in front of him/her, face up and gets 1 point. He can
ask again until he gets a negative answer.
-If the person who has been asked, hasn’t got the card he/she must say:
“No, he/she doesn’t [they don’t]. Go fish!” and player A takes a card from

If a player runs out of cards, the game is not over. They just take a card from the
