★★★★★★★★★★★ I MET MY GOAL★★★★★★★★★
★★★★★★The NO PREP SELF ASSESSING activity.★★★★★★
★★★★★★Great for INDEPENDENT WORK.★★★★★★
This activity includes 16 practice problems
. Students could work by themselves (self-assessment), with partners, or with groups. This activity helps students to check their understanding of "Writing Linear Equations given a point and an equation of a parallel line"
Students are asked to write the equation in 2 different forms:
☑ Slope-Intercept Form
☑ Standard Form
In this activity the lines may have different type of slopes:
↘ Negative Slope
↗ Positive Slope
→ Zero Slope
↑ Undefined Slope
This activity is only version 1
❖ Version 1:
The given equation is always in Slope-Intercept Form (All 16 Questions) (Check VERSION 2
for equations given in slope-intercept form and standard form)
✴ Students would need to feel comfortable with working with slope-intercept form and changing it to standard form as the y
-intercept in some cases maybe a fraction.
✴ I am hoping that students would become very efficient in this activity as PURPOSELY I included the y
-intercept as one of points in this activity written as an ordered pair (0, #) in at least one example.
Each student would set a GOAL
for him/herself and check to see if they met the GOAL
at the end of the practice by coloring in a thermometer
with their score.
The answers are listed and are associated with a QR Code. Students would need a QR reader to scan the QR code and see if they managed to match the question with the correct answer.
This is a great way to review before a quiz or a test. This activity could even be assigned when you're out. It is self monitoring. It is a good practice over a this particular concept.
Research has shown that using self-assessment with students can positively effect self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation levels in students (Rolheiser and Ross).
This activity includes a quiz
over this concept in addition to a STEP-BY-STEP ANSWER KEY
The QR code answer page is includes in two different formats. To save papers, you may like the second format in which the two sheets are combined in one.
Check out the "Preview"
attached to this file for the type of problems assigned. Also, don't hesitate to check out the SAMPLE provided over the general idea of this product at: GOAL Sample
This activity may be used without the QR code as well
