This GOAL activity is part of : GOAL - BUNDLE Factoring Polynomials
This activity includes 16 practice problems
. Students could work by themselves (self-assessment), with partners, or with groups. This activity helps students to check their understanding of:
Factoring GCF where:
• There maybe 1 or 2 variables present
• Number of terms maybe 2, 3, or 4
• Leading coefficient maybe negative
Each student would set a GOAL
for him/herself and check to see if they met the GOAL
at the end of the practice by coloring in a thermometer
with their score.
The answers are listed and are associated with a QR Code. Students would need a QR reader to scan the QR code and see if they managed to match the question with the correct answer.
This is a great way to review before a quiz or a test. This activity could even be assigned when you're out. It is self monitoring. It is a good practice over a this particular concept.
Research has shown that using self-assessment with students can positively effect self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation levels in students (Rolheiser and Ross).
