I like to print on card stock and laminate. I have included a place at the bottom to keep pieces organized during game play. I hope your littes enjoy this game and master the mental math skill of 10 more 10 less! Happy Haunting!
Players: partner game
Materials: Monster Mat (one per pair), 2-dice in dice per pair, counters in 2 different colors
Oldest student goes first. Kiddos take turn rolling die. The inside die is the “ones place” the outside die is the tens place (if using 2-die: one is tens place and one is ones place). Your little cuties compute 10 more AND 10 less and searches for the number. If a number is found, it gets covered., if both are found BONUS- they cover two! If the number is not on the mat; lose a turn. If a player rolls a number that is covered by the opponent, one of two things can happen: ONE- if the number is EVEN they knock their opponent off and (politely) yell GOTCHA! OR……TWO- if the number is ODD the player looses his/her turn and the other player gets to keep their number and politely yell GOTCHA! Play continues until the mat is filled up (or time runs out). The cutie tootie (aka student) with the most counters wins! (I like having themed stickers for the winner.)
