**NOTE: This test does have a bit more focus on critical thinking and application based on the word problems included.**
Grade 7 / Grade 8 unit test for fractions, which adheres to the Ontario curriculum standards. Marking scheme also covers the 4 areas: knowledge/understanding, thinking, communication and application.
Unit test covers the following:
- multiplying, dividing, adding and subtracting fractions
- comparing fractions using <, >, =
- reducing fractions to simplest form
- converting to mixed fractions
- solving word problems
The test is 3 pages and total is out of 28.
There are 3 multistep word problem questions and 2 communication questions where students must explain a principle/concept/rule taught about fractions using an example to justify their answer. The remaining questions are straightforward computation with fractions.
Can be modified to suit the various needs (e.g. IEP modifications, accommodations, etc.) of your students.
