Using vocabulary in context is an IEP goal for many of my upper elementary and middle school students. This writing frame helps students to use vocabulary in context as they learn about Groundhog’s Day.
I begin by activating students’ prior knowledge of Groundhog’s Day. Then, I have students fill out this writing frame using words from the Word Bank. Next, we discuss the writing frame and finally the students copy the writing frame or type it for additional practice.
