This download contains inserts that are compatible with the Guess Who ? Game boards version (2009) .

“Guess Who?” game is commonly found in most speech therapy settings. These Mystery Object game board inserts are designed to help students practice /L/ sounds while playing this popular game. This download includes 72 different /L/ words. This game can be used in small group instruction with non-readers.


EASY ASSEMBLY
1.Print two copies of each Mystery Object game board on 8” x 11”cardstock. They may also be laminated for durability but it is not necessary.
2.Cut off bottom section of each Mystery Object game board where indicated.
3.Decide which Mystery Object game board you want to use and slide one copy of it into place behind the doors on each side of the Guess Who game tray YOU ARE READY TO PLAY!!!!!


OBJECT
Guess your opponent’s Mystery Object before they guess yours!

PLAYING THE GAME
1.Each player should choose a Mystery Object from one of the top two rows and slide the object selector over that object. The other object selector should be on a white dot. For articulation practice have each student name all the pictured objects in the top two rows before selecting their mystery object.
2.Each player should open all the doors on the game tray so he/she can see the objects.
3.The younger player goes first. Players alternate turns by asking a YES or NO question. Depending on the answer, the player will close the door (s) to any object they know is NOT his/her opponent’s Mystery Object.
For example: Player one can ask, “ Is your mystery object a torch?” The opponent answers, “ No it is not a torch.” The player now closes the door to the torch and is closer to figuring out the Mystery Object.
4.Now it’s the other players turn to ask a yes or no question. Questions can be direct YES/NO questions such as “ Is your Mystery Object a rabbit?” or they can be categorical type questions if they apply such as “ Is your Mystery Object an animal?”.

WINNING
Once a player think they know their opponent’s Mystery Object, they wait until their next turn and make a guess instead of asking a question. If the guess is correct, they win.
For tournament style play, slide the scorekeeper on the game tray up for every game that is won. The first player to win five games is the Champion!
Also use the cards to just have students describe to one another without putting them in the game. Put the sheets in a plastic sleeve and let them use a wipe off marker as they guess the word.
