Students cut up the puzzle, mix and resequence , discussing any ‘Key Features’ (Special rules they need to remember when writing these words) as they go.

DICTATION SCAFFOLD
Read the focus sentence aloud. Remind students of any ‘Key Features’. Fold ‘Key Features’ away. Students trace the given words and write the words or sounds that are missing. ‘This house has two windows’. Score the number of correct missing sounds.
