My eight-page packets include an essay example, idea photographs, planning diagram example, blank writing graphic organizer and writing paper for the elementary student who needs "visualization", in addition to thinking. They are from real teaching techniques that I use in my elementary classroom writing lessons. This expanded way of teaching writing (not just note-taking or outlining) helps students who needs a little extra or a different modality of learning.
The writing process is broken into 3 steps for the student: 1) reading the example (role modeling), 2) seeing the thought process that went into it (via visuals and planning diagram), and, then 3)thinking and visualizing what he/she can write from personal own experiences/knowledge base.
Each packet has a different topic, and all include beautiful close-up photographs of the three example ideas, so using detail is understood.
THIS PRODUCT IS ESPECIALLY GOOD FOR HOMESCHOOLERS, who may not benefit from seeing good student work on school bulletin boards.
