2-MINUTE GAB & GO VIDEO:
SETTING UP AND USING GAB & GO STATIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
This bundle contains these 3 products (Click the links to see full descriptions and previews.):
LINK #1: Gab & Go: 40 Quotation Posters for Stations and Bulletin Board Displays
40 high-resolution photographs branded with discussion-worthy quotations. They can be used as inspirational quotes to decorate bulletin boards or they can be used to set up Gab & Go Stations.
LINK #2 Movie Quotes: Gab & Go Stations and Writing Prompts
Some the best movie lines of all time are featured to jumpstart students' writings and discussions. Memorable movie lines require two essential ingredients: 1) They must sound like something a real person would actually say, and 2) the character must deliver the lines with just the right amount of emotion.
LINK #3 Inferring Details with Dialogue Quotes: 50 Gab & Go and Quick Write Prompts
Inferring Details from Dialogue Quotes is a fun way for students to practice making inferences and to promote lively class discussions. Each quote is part of a problem that needs to be solved. However, the fact that it is being showcased out of context, opens each line up for interpretation, personalization and discussion.
Gab & Go Stations are used to…
…share opinions, and/or
…collect ideas for future projects.
They shorten student learning curves and give teachers a relaxing and fun way to inform instruction.
And they are easy to set up.
All you have to do is display one numbered question prompt at each station. You can post them around the room on walls or showcase them on several computer screens. I usually create 6 stations, and send pairs or small groups to each one for 3-4 minutes.
Student engagement in the whole-class discussions that follow Gab & Go sessions improve because students are allowed to use the notes they took at the stations.
