All you need is this game board and a die! Your students will love this engaging game and you will love it too!!!
How to use the play the game….
Object of the game: Students will use a word or phrase to fill up as many boxes as possible in the time given that has to do with the topic. Then, students will count up to see which partner filled up the most boxes.
Pick a topic you wish to have your class review.
Pair them with a partner.
Each partner will need a colored pencil (or writing utensil in a different color) and a die
Give the students a “magic number” (any number 1-6 becomes magic) they must land on with the die.
One student will have the game board and one student will have the die.
When you say go, the student with the game board begins filling in as many boxes as possible. The student with the die will begin rolling the die, trying to land on the “magic number”.
Once the student lands on the “magic number”, the students switch jobs. So the student with the die is now filling in the game board and the student with the game board is rolling the die until they land on the “magic number”.
Once you are ready to stop, have the students review the boxes to make sure they all make sense and are relevant to the topic.
Students will count up the squares each player filled in based on the color pencil used to fill in each box.
The student who filled in the most boxes win!
