Are you looking for some basic game templates that you can use over and over on the Smartboard for just about any skill? Don't you hate having to keep spending time creating Smartboard activities every time you want to do an activity? I may have just what you are looking for.
I got tired of doing the same thing so I made up a few game templates. I have had so many teachers ask me to share these. They include cars, football, swimming, Easter, Thanksgiving, Valetine's, St. Patrick's Day, and more. This is a collection of 10 themed board game templates. I have set them up for teams of 3 -5, but you can easily change that if you have more or less groups in your class.
I use them a lot in math for word problems, because kids usually don't like to tackle those. Check out my preview. It is a Thanksgiving template and is one of the ten included. I would put the kids in small teams and when they work out a problem, if it's correct they would add a feather for their turkey. If it's wrong, they'll work at it again until it's correct. The key is not who gets there first, but who can get there. I'll usually say that the teams that get "x" amount of feathers on there turkeys earns some prize ( a piece of candy, etc.) They love it and it motivates them to tackle the hard problems that they normally find boring. The best part is that you don't have to do anything other than alter your number of groups by copying/pasting what I've already put on the slides for you. Use problems from a textbook, worksheet or something that you've made and the basic template and you've just made something fun with not much effort.
