Students will roll the dice to substitute for x and y values on 15 variable expressions. This can be played with a variety of dice to vary the difficulty. I have included several templates for dice if you need them. Here are the directions on the page:
For each round, you will have a referee. Each player will take a turn being the referee. The referee is in charge of rolling the dice, checking the answers on the calculator, and declaring the winner.
All players, except the referee will:
1 Rewrite the expression replacing the variables with parentheses
2 Roll each die to find what to substitute for each variable
3 Substitute values and solve
4 The first person with the correct answer gets a point
5 You will tally the scores on a separate sheet of paper and create a circle graph at the end to display the percent of rounds each player won.
