In this maze-game, students will play the role of a treasure hunter and enter the maze to find the Tomb of Tutankhamen. They can move left, right or up according to the results of their calculations in each box they visit. If they find an integer, they choose to go right or left. If they find a fraction they have to go up. They have to beware the snake pit on their way.
This game can be played individually or as groups of two. You may
- reward the first n students who find the trail to the tomb and who performed all their calculations correctly,
- ask the students to estimate if the calculations will result in a fraction or an integer, and draw the trail accordingly,
As an assessment tool, you may
- collect the papers for assessment,
- ask the students to exchange the papers and assess his/her peer's paper.
