Prior to this activity, we learned about what matter is made up of, the four states of matter, how the particles behave in each state of matter, and we identified the gas phase of matter by its properties.
In this activity, students will describe the behavior of gases with changes in pressure, temperature, and volume.
Students will work through a PowerPoint presentation on Boyle's Law and Charles's Law and will record notes and examples on the provided worksheet. The PowerPoint includes background information on Boyle and Charles, questions for exploration and analysis, instructions for the ivory soap experiment and links to video clips.
