Product Description

This is a practice problem worksheet that I use when teaching the gas laws to my chemistry classes. This worksheet covers the Molar Volume and Stoichiometry of Gases. These 20 questions and problems will help your chemistry or physical science students learn to work stoichiometry problems involving gases at both standard and non-standard conditions. This practice problem worksheet can be used for classwork, homework, test review, or quiz.

These practice problems are most appropriately used after your unit on stoichiometry, and at the end of your unit on the gas laws.

• Molar volume of a gas at STP
• Given one mole of a particular gas, students will give the number of molecules, the molar volume, and the mass of the gas.
• Volume to Volume ratio problems
• Molar volume problems
• Mass to volume and volume to mass at STP
• Mass to Volume and volume to mass at non-standard conditions
• Completely editable.
• There are 6 questions and 14 practice problems.

The following prior instruction is needed:

• Students must be able to write chemical formulas and balance chemical equations.
• Students must have previous instruction in stoichiometry.
• Students need knowledge of the gas laws and how to apply them.

All answers and solutions are provided in a 6-page teacher solutions and answer key. You will receive both an editable Word document and a pdf version of the assignment.

I have included two versions of this resource. Choose the format that is best for you.

• Version 1: All of the questions and problems are on a single page. This is the “paper-saving” option. Students will complete all work on their own paper. You can print just one set, and use the same handouts in multiple classes, provided that you tell the students not to write on them!
• Version 2: In version 2 you will print out pages 1 – 4 for each student and the student will be writing on each page.
