Using the volleyball Wilson from Castaway, students read and analyze various scenarios Wilson goes through. Students must figure out how pressure, volume, and temperature are affected, drawing pictures and writing descriptions of what is happening, including which gas laws apply. Can be used as a review or assessment, or even an intro activity to see what the kids know. All of my students enjoy this activity from year to year. It's good for all levels, from physical science students to honors chemistry students. It helps them show what they've learned while showing their creativity!
