These sight word games are a fun, engaging way to get your students practicing their sight words! I have found this game to be especially engaging for reluctant boys!
Included in this download you will receive a game board, a set of game instructions, word cards for Dolch pre-primer, primer, first grade, second grade, and third grade lists, gator wrangler cards, and swamp cards!
To use these games in your classroom, simply print, laminate, cut and add game pieces.
To play, students will pair up with a partner or small group. Playing cards should be placed in a pile in between the players. Students will take turns drawing cards. If they can read the word on the card that they draw, they will move forward one place on the game board. When students draw a gator wrangler card they will get to move forward three spaces. Students should be on the lookout for swamps! Getting stuck in the swamp will force them to move back two places. The player who reaches the end of the board first will be a gator wrangler!
My students absolutely love these games and I know yours will too!
