This stations activity is a great introductory lesson for teaching The Great Gatsby. Students get exposure to the setting and author through a variety of texts, images, and audio recordings. It's a fun way to set the tone for the unit and help students visualize the time period of the novel!
NOTE: Audio recordings of 1920s hits not included. I recommend finding recordings online of songs that are directly mentioned in Gatsby (i.e. "The Sheik of Araby," "Ain't We Got Fun," and "Three O'Clock in the Morning") and playing them on a computer at the music station.
