This graphic organizer asks students to trace the author's use of color and find common threads within each chapter. The analysis comes from deciphering the symbolism for each common thread.
I ask students to make one entry per chapter, but they must maintain it through the reading of the entire book and submit at the end or use it as a primary source for an essay.
The document is uploaded as a Word document so you may scaffold or alter to fit your lesson plans and instruction or to use electronically so the boxes may expand as students type their responses.
