Gavin is a confused groundhog! Help him figure out what items go with “winter” and what items go with “spring.” This mini-book targets categorization skills, sentence expansion, adjectives, and more.
Print and laminate the book (pgs. 3-9) and the winter/spring pieces on pg. 10. On each page of the book, the student needs to place either the winter or the spring icon in the box. There are 5 winter items and 5 spring items.
-Winter/Spring icons and book items: pg. 10 – Use the winter/spring icons to place in the book as you read and the other items with the sequencing mat
-Sentence strips: pg. 11 – Use the items from the book with the sentence strips
-Cut and Paste worksheet: pg. 12 – Have your students cut and paste the items into the correct box
-Adjective cards: pg. 13-14 – Students should choose the correct adjective to describe the item
-WH question cards: pg. 15-16: Students choose the correct answer from the 3 given choices
-Sequencing Mat: pg. 17 – Students can sequencing the items that Gavin sees
-Parent Letter: pg. 15 – Optional
