Stereotypes are a sensitive subject these days. The good thing is, most elementary aged students don't know what they are, and aren't basing their friendships off them. Children are so easily influenced, so teaching them about the topic early can help them later on when they come into contact with them.
This isn't going to help your students pick a side, or tell them what is right or wrong. It is designed to help facilitate open-discussions and guide your lessons for teaching about stereotypes. Using video clips, literature, advertisements, and class discussions, this unit will be a great resource.
