This discussion seminar can be a great summative assessment task for a history class that has covered second wave feminism and/or the LGBTQ movement! It can also be used in the context of any social studies class, and may also be a great way to introduce and expose students to issues related to gender and sexuality.
This includes the resources, student preparation guide, note sheet, and self-assessment rubric for a discussion seminar about gender and sexuality. Students will analyze historical and modern data about a variety of issues, and then synthesize arguments. This packet will prompt students to have a fact-based, yet argumentative discussion about complex historical and modern topics.
This lesson requires about 1-2 of prep work, and then one class period for the discussion itself.
