If you use Illuminate for assessments, this may be the collection of quizzes for you!
My school recently started using Illuminate (https://www.illuminateed.com/) for report cards and I wanted to utilize it to its fullest in progress monitoring my students on how well they knew some essentials of reading music. I do not have chairs or desks in my classroom so I hesitated in giving traditional assessments. Wanting to use Illuminate more I created these quizzes as PowerPoints to accommodate the set-up in my classroom. Illuminate has been so easy for me that I found a way to quickly see where my students were excelling or struggling with material we had already learned in previous school years or new material.
If you use Illuminate, all you have to do is create the assessment, print out answer sheets, and have students scan their answer sheet or you can scan later. I used these quizzes as exit tickets that my students scanned before they left class.
If you do not use Illuminate then these quizzes can be printed out or shown on a SmartBoard.
There are 6 quizzes in this collection: Basic/Beginning Music Theory, Note Values, Note Names, Dynamics, Expression/Performance Markings, and Music Symbols. These were created based on the various learning and language levels of my students. There are visual examples in the multiple choice answers to give support to students who are still developing their language.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the assessments or have trouble with the file
