This is a great activity for early finishers, emergency sub plans, a homework assignment, or a conclusion to a unit. It is easily fits into any science curriculum in middle school. It gives the students the opportunity to choose what parts to complete in that they draw a line through the three activities that interest them and complete only those activities. The activities range from writing, to designing an experiment, to vocabulary reinforcement. It can be done all at once in one class period, or it can be broken up over several days.
**Note, I always keep newspapers in my class for current events summaries. If you do not have access to newspapers or to the internet for students to look up an article, you may want to change that square.
**If you would like to edit this activity, check out the Word version available in my store.
