Students will learn and practice the steps to conduct genetic recombination in order to solve a real world problem. This is the activity you have been waiting for! Students will choose the correct restriction enzymes, find the correct cut sites to remove the gene, and place the gene fragment in another DNA strand using the same restriction enzymes. Finally they will simulate the effects of DNA ligase bonding the sticky ends with tape. This has it all!
There are two versions included. One for advanced students and one for regular ed students. The DNA strips to go with this activity can be found for free at my store (could not get them together due to differing page widths).
