This bundle is 4 weeks (20 days) worth of quick writes for you to use as an introduction to a lesson as a warm up or as an exit ticket to determine how well the students comprehended the lesson. It contains a variety of different genetic topics for quick writes that cover genes, traits, genotype, phenotype, adaptations and natural selection. I am using this for 7th grade, but if your curriculum requires you to teach it in different grades it can probably be used for 6th through 10th. It focuses primarily on the concepts of genetics without specific details (like punnet squares).
Writing is a skill that constantly needs to be worked on and having a quick write is a good way for students to jot down their thoughts on the topic, assess what was previously learned, and can also get students' minds thinking in the right direction for a particular lesson. So this set of quick writes is a great way to meet the English Common Core Standards by defending, writing, and reflecting on some of the different topics that are covered in science.
Check out the preview for two days worth of quick writes to give you an idea of the format and questions.
