This is a genetics lab where students get to build a monster using their knowledge of patterns of inheritance in relation to dominant and recessive alleles.
Besides the lab you will also receive:
FREE - 1 page worksheet that contains 5 genetic problems on monsters. This worksheet would be great to give to students prior to lab for homework or practice. It is also editable.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this activity is to learn how a combination of genes (dominant and recessive alleles) work together to create an organism.
NGSS STANDARD: MS.Growth, Development, and Reproduction of Organisms: MS-LS3-2 Develop and use a model to describe why asexual reproduction results in offspring with identical genetic information and sexual reproduction results in offspring with genetic variation.
