Students will be able to show that they understand “alleles are forms of genes, which control traits.” by answering 2 out of 2 basic reading comprehension questions correctly based on Mendelian genetics.
Students will show that they understand “the presence of a dominant allele affects the frequency of observed traits.” by answering 3 out of 4 questions correctly on the exit ticket regarding traits and alleles.
SWBAT form a hypothesis on the frequency of observed traits as well as collect data using a data table and graph it for visual representation.
SWBAT form a procedure used to address the question: Are traits controlled by dominant alleles more common than traits controlled by recessive alleles? SWBAT form a conclusion by justifying with evidence whether traits controlled by dominant alleles are more common than traits controlled by recessive alleles
