Genetics Practice Handouts
Product Description
This product uses two popular Sesame Street families to teach genetics. These handouts are print and go ready! Both handouts provide students with chromosome strips that they use to determine genotype and phenotype. There are no chromosome strips to cut out for this lesson.

This product consists of two handouts and answer keys:

Handout 1:
Count von Count and Countess von Backwards are expecting a child. The chromosomes for this child are provided and students use them to determine genotype and phenotype. Students are then asked to identify a homozygous gene, heterozygous gene, and an allele. Finally, students sketch the offspring.

Handout 2:
Mr. and Mrs. Twiddlebug are expecting another child. The chromosomes for this child are provided and students use them to determine genotype and phenotype. Students are then asked to identify a homozygous gene, heterozygous gene, and an allele. In addition, students are asked to explain how Mr. and Mrs. Twiddlebug, who both have black eyes might end up with a child that has green eyes. Finally, students sketch the offspring.
