This is a great way to end a unit on Genetics. Having your students write this 5 paragraph paper allows you to judge whether a student really knows about how mutations and genetics works or not. It also brings the literacy component into the science classroom. This will help students not only understand how to write about science, but also how to read about science. Reading science journals and articles can be tricky. This is a nice way to either introduce the concept to your students or to build on the knowledge you have already worked on.
