You have two tiered puzzles on the types of reproduction, genetics, and evolution. Also you have non-tiered puzzles on selective breeding/genetic engineering and the evidence of evolution. There are a total of eight puzzles.
The puzzles are labeled in the lower right hand corner with 1 or 2. The 1 puzzles are written at a lower level, and the 2 puzzles are at a higher level.
You can differentiate your instruction by providing students who are approaching or barely meeting the standard with the 1 puzzle, and students who are meeting or exceeding the standard will get the 2 puzzle.
You could also have students first complete the level 1 puzzle, and then complete the level 2 puzzle.
The puzzles are easily checked for accuracy by looking for the “magic number” (Answer keys for all puzzles are provided).
The puzzles are excellent for review/reinforcement or assessments. The puzzles can be completed individually or in small groups.
Students match the correct answer number to the question. Each question is lettered, not numbered. Students take the answer number for each question and put it into the magic number box based on the letter of the question.
At the end, students should be able to add up all the numbers for each row and column and the sum should be the same for each. This is the magic number.
