Product Description
Genie in a Bottle by Bryce Hixson
A cloud of hot steam rises from a 2-liter pop bottle as we call forth the spirit of Mendeleev using his "cremated remains" (manganese dioxide) and the "spirit activator" (concentrated hydrogen peroxide). Water, oxygen, and a substantial amount of heat are released almost instantly and create the illusion that Mendeleev is rising from the bottle to join your chemistry class. Very entertaining, easy to do, and an excellent introduction to colloids, exothermic reactions, and catalysts.
