This is the scaffold I provide all students for writing their position papers in preparation for a Model United Nations conference. For me, a MUN simulation can be done in any classroom and at any grade level. It is a role play activity that teaches students to complete independent research and put it to use while developing academic language, expository writing and public speaking. The position paper is the main document students prepare for the conference. It is composed of three main paragraphs. What is the problem? What is my country's relationship to the problem? What is my country's solution to the problem? The document included here are the guiding questions that help students construct a well researched position paper on the topic of Genocide.
