Make this set of genre posters interactive with the free video app Toontastic on the iPad.
****This version of Toontastic is not compatible with iOS 11 - I'm working on an update for this packet using the new 3D version of Toontastic.******
Integrate this free iPad® mobile digital device app into reading to make interactive QR video anchor charts! Students will plan and create a video using characters, settings, and music about one of 17 literary genres. Included direction sheets explain how to turn student videos into QR codes to attach to the included 17 anchor charts!
Students can scan the anchor charts all year long for a quick video reminder of the characteristics and examples of that genre.
Packet includes everything your students need to plan and create a genre video independently on the app as well as teacher directions for making the interactive anchor charts:
★ 4 Planning sheets for creating a genre video report including checklist project direction guide, graphic organizers for researching the genre and writing a script and a guide to organize their report on the app.
★ 17 genre anchor charts with a genre, definition and clipart. Use these if you want to have your students make stand-alone videos. You can print and display these anchor charts in your classroom all year, every year.
★ 17 genre anchor charts with a genre, definition, clipart and space to attach student video QR code if you decide to make your anchor charts interactive. You can display these anchor charts in your classroom all year, every year, only detaching the QR codes each year.
★ 3 visual step-by-step direction pages for using the app.
★ 1 visual step-by-step direction page for students to upload their video to YouTube.
★ 2 pages of teacher direction sheets for creating ad-free QR codes of student videos.
★ 1 rubric for assessing any project.
★ 1 Quiet Please sign to display when students are recording video. Leave in the center so other students know not to interrupt!
★ 2 sample interactive anchor charts with QR Toontastic videos to share with your students prior to the project.
You will need the free app Toontastic. A QR code directing to the iTunes store is included. Please note that the free app limits length of scenes, which I took into consideration when creating the project.
Since my products all utilize free web and app resources, there may be rare times that the technology does not work as planned, which may be out of my control. Please be sure to message me in the Q&A section so I can assist you before leaving feedback. I use all of the apps that I base my packets on frequently and will update products as the apps themselves update.
